CLASS OF 2025 San Antonio Texas
CLASS OF 2025 San Antonio Texas
Dear Coaches -
I will play baseball at the next level. The goal of my training is to be a two-way player in college – although very ambitious, I’ve always believed that if I could stay focused on what that would take, then everything else will take care of itself.
Athletics has always been a significant part of my family life. I have three brothers (12, 9, 6) that also play baseball and other sports. As a youth athlete I played soccer and basketball, and was quarterback for my high school freshman and sophomore teams. My father is a 6’2” former Division One pitcher in the 1990s, he is a Texas State University and University of Texas alumnus, a veteran, and currently an Emergency Medicine physician. My mother is a 5’10” formally trained ballet dancer and former multi-sport athlete, she is a Texas A&M University and Rice University alumnus and is currently a business executive and entrepreneur. Although I am already very strong and tall for my age, particularly compared to my peers within my 2025 class, I am currently 6’3” and still expected to grow. Knowing that my size is a distinct advantage to me as an athlete, I am committed to working relentlessly toward my body composition goal of 220 lbs with 195 lbs of lean body mass while simultaneously maintaining the agility and athleticism needed to pitch, catch, and play the corners, and develop the speed required to play the outfield.
On May 2, 2023, I turned 16, and am the youngest player in my junior class this high school season – I see this as a competitive advantage for my future in baseball. I will play 16U this Fall with the Texas Twelve and Trosky organizations but am 15U eligible because of my age.
I maintain a four-part personal training focus: skill training with my pitching, hitting and fielding coaches; consistent strength training with my strength team; baseball training and game experience with my select and high school teams; and mental approach development through active learning from coaches and online resources. These experiences will teach me to analyze and understand the game and how to use all the resources available to me. Without exception, I will maintain my academics (current 3.7 GPA) to remain competitive for any collegiate opportunities and develop as a person to be ready for whatever life brings on and off the field.
I am determined to advance my career and compete on a national stage. This summer before my junior season I've become actively involved in the recruiting process. I have sent regular communications to collegiate coaches with my progress, updated skill and game videos on my personal webpage, maintained a social media presence, and will attend prospect camps and combines in August. I have developed my Five Tool player profile. One day I hope to have the opportunity and privilege of speaking with you live about the possibility of playing for you at the next level.
Respectfully,
Andrew Paulson
